When the engineering directors and designers of the McLaren F1 united to found a business, sports car enthusiasts began to drool. It’s the car that Freestream, acquired by Caparo, showed the public and did not deceive: The Caparo T1.

With a carbon fiberglass structure weighing only 470 kg, the T1 can accommodate 2 passengers and reach a speed of 330km/h with its V8 engine and 3.5L.  Its monocoque was designed as an aluminum honeycomb with a tubular space frame structure. Its lateral acceleration and its breaking deceleration go up to 3G and the 6 speed sequential gearbox takes only 60 milliseconds to switch gears.

Unfortunately the car did not go into production, but its price however is estimated to be 235 thousand pounds, or 650 thousand Brazilian reals. Even though it only produces a “meager” 575 horse power, its weight is considerably light, which in the end, has more power than a Bugatti Veyron which costs more than a million euros.
